Course Description

The RBT 40-Hour Complete Course provides essential training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to prepare learners for the Registered Behavior Technician role. Covering all areas of the RBT Task List, this course focuses on data collection, skill acquisition, behavior reduction, and professional ethics—equipping participants with the knowledge and practical tools to deliver effective, evidence-based support under BCBA supervision.

Course Objectives.

Accurately measure and record behavior using continuous and discontinuous data collection methods.

Conduct preference assessments and assist with functional and skills-based assessments.

Implement individualized teaching procedures including DTT, NET, and chaining methods.

Apply reinforcement, prompting, shaping, and fading strategies to build new skills.

Implement behavior reduction plans using antecedent modifications, differential reinforcement, and extinction.

Maintain clear, objective documentation and communicate progress effectively with supervisors.

Follow ethical and professional standards as outlined in the BACB RBT Ethics Code.

Collaborate appropriately with supervisors, parents, and team members to support client goals.

Apply ABA techniques during community outings, social skills sessions, and communication training.

Demonstrate readiness for the RBT Competency Assessment and certification process.
